Ashley Andrews

Much of contemporary artist Ashley Andrew's work is large scale abstract painting on canvas.
She has a sophisticated sense of bold color and line which evoke emotional reactions. Her organic shapes fill the canvas with a balance and sensuality.

She draws on the canvas with charcoal or oil sticks, and paints in acrylic or oil. She is influenced
by Willem De Kooning, Franz Kline and Robert Motherwell.
Ms. Andrews is always seeking authenticity and honesty in her work and her travels around the
world influence her sense of color and design.

Andrews has studied at the Art Students League, in New York City; Silvermine Arts Guild, New
Canaan, Ct; Katonah Art Center in Katonah, New York;The New School in New York City and at
the University of Denver. She was accepted into the Vermont Studio Center for the summer of

She currently has a show at the A-3 Gallery in Moscow, Russia (May 2007). She has showed at
the Waveney Barn Abstract show in New Canaan, Ct; Slvermine New Members show; Silvermine
Collaborations show; Art of the Northeast and has many paintings in private collections.

Andrews graduated from the University of Denver in Political Science and has worked as a
journalist and a photographer. She has been painting for 15 years and lives in North Salem, NY.
